En ik maar denken dat ik dat allemaal ging redden. Niet dus, Stijn is ziek geweest tot donderdag en vrijdag werd Mare ziek en dat is ze nog steeds..:-( Ik heb dus niet echt kunnen werken aan de website of het patroon, de Engelse versie heb ik net klaar en ik beloof dat ik de Nederlandse versie zo snel mogelijk maak. Voorlopig mail ik iedereen maar het patroon als een PDF handmatig omdat ik nog geen goede oplossing heb gevonden voor het downloaden. maar ook daar ga ik achteraan want ik heb Ocean net gelist op Etsy en ik zou niet weten hoeveel convo's ik ga krijgen. Ik hoop niet dat ik morgen de hele dag mailtjes aan het versturen ben LOL

Nop, Stijn has been ill till Thursday and on Friday Mare got ill and she still is...:-( I couldn't really work on my website or on the pattern, I just finished the english version and I promiss I'll write the Dutch version asap. For the moment I'm mailing everybody the PDF pattern manually, cause I haven't found a good solution for downloading it. But I really need to check that out, cause I've just listed Ocean on Etsy and I don't now how many convo's I'm going to get. I just hope that tomorrow I can do something more then sending e-mails LOL

Ik kwam net toch zoiets leuks tegen via het forum van Etsy. Nou had ik al eens vaker zitten denken om te haken met garen dat gemaakt is van oude plastic tasjes. Maar zoals zoveel dingen eraan denken dan gebeurd het nog niet. maar nu ga ik het toch echt uitproberen, nadat ik dit filmpje heb gezien het is gemaakt door Kate E. I just found something cute via the etsy forum. I'd often thought of knitting or crochet something out of plastic bags. But as it goes, thinking of something, doesn't make it happen.

Paniek in de tent / Panic on Etsy

Gisteren was het paniek in de tent, de etsy site lag eruit! Ik wilde wat nieuws listen en tot mijn verbazing kwam ik er niet op, na anderhalf uur lukte het weer maar waar waren mijn views?!!!!

Ze hebben de servers moeten resetten dus alle info over views aantallen zijn verloren gegaan, gelukkig is er verder niks kwijt, alle hartjes en feedback is er nog. het enige wat jammer is dat ik net een onderzoekje aan het doen was over het effect van het vernieuwen van items, dat zal ik dus weer opnieuw moeten doen. Grote hulp bij onderzoeken hoeveel views je kriigt is deze site

Yesterday, there was a lot of panic here. Etsy site was down. I wanted to list my newest capelet, but to my surprise I couldn't get on the site, after 1,5 hours, I checked again and it worked, but where were my views?!!!!! They had to reset the servers so all the viewcount were lost,Thankfully we didn't loose our feedback or hearts. But I was doing some research on renewing and views, so I have to start again. Verbetering van mijn Etsy shop / Improving my Etsy shop

En voor je het weet zijn er alweer 4 dagen voorbij. Mijn opdracht is af en opgehaald, ik ben bezig met 4 verschillende patronen te schrijven, en ik moet toegeven da's niet zo handig. Verder ben ik bezig geweest om een aantal listings in mijn Etsy shop te verbeteren en dat is volgens mij wel gelukt Eerst alle voorbladen van mijn patronen hetzelfde gemaakt en daarna alles uitgeprint en gelamineerd en samen met de wol gefotografeerd voor de breipaketten. Nu is het tenminste duidelijk in mijn shop wanneer je een patroon koopt of een breipakket of een kant en klaar produkt

And before you know it it's 4 days since I posted the last time. I finished my custom order, and I'm writing 4 patterns at the same time. I have to admit that's not the brightest thing I've ever done. The rest of the time I spend on improving my Etsy shop, and I think I did a great job.

I first made all of my first pages in the same frame, then I printed everything and laminated them. I took some pics with the pattern and the yarn for the knitting kits. Now it's clear when your are buying a pattern, a knitting kit or a finished item

En voor je het weet ben je al weer 2 dagen verder.
Even wat persoonlijks, bij het Sint Marie is alles goed gegaan. Ame hoeft voorlopig niet terug naar de logopedie, dus het is het echt waard geweest om daar naar toe te gaan. Het was wel een gedoe om haar daar aangenomen te krijgen, het is een voorziening die betaald word uit de AWBZ dus, denk aan in
4-voud papieren inleveren met de dikte van een goed boek, en dat elk half jaar want een beslissing van het CIZ is maar een half jaar geldig in dit geval. De spraaktherapie bij het Sint Marie is bedoeld voor kinderen waarvan de eigen logopedist niet meer goed weet hoe ze verder moeten met de behandeling omdat de ontwikkeling stagneert, zeg maar een soort back-up voor logopedisten. Vaak is het zo dat deze kinderen een dieper liggende oorzaak of oorzaken hebben en bij het Sint Marie hebben ze zeer specialistische mensen die dat door kunnen testen om te zien waar de oorzaak van het spraakprobleem ligt. Ook Stijn is er onder behandeling geweest, voor hem ging de aanmelding een stuk sneller, ze hadden hem meteen op de tweede wachtlijst geplaatst (eerste wachtlijst is om te bepalen of je hulp krijgt en op welke afdeling, de tweede wachtlijst is voor de afdeling (2)waar je voor in aanmerking komt in dit geval voor het spraak/taal ambulatorium)
Even wat getallen ze krijgen meer dan 1200 aanmeldingen per jaar en er kunnen maar 72 kinderen geplaatst worden per afdeling per jaar!!!!
Stijn heeft zijn effectmeting in april, bij hem is het allemaal wat complexer. Hij is dyslectisch en we zijn afgelopen maandag bij de kinderneuroloog geweest voor de uitslagen van die testen, en hij blijkt een slaapstoornis (rusteloze benen syndroom) te hebben naast ADD, hij krijgt nu een pilletje om beter te slapen, en hopelijk heeft dat een gunstig effect op zijn concentratievermogen.
Hij zit op dit moment heel erg lekker in zijn vel met dank aan het minimumprogramma wat hij volgt op school, hij krijgt gewoon de normale lesstof maar niet de herhalingen, en voor hem werkt dat perfect, hij is eindelijk niet iedere keer als laatste klaar met opdrachten. En het schatje vraagt zelf om meer als hij klaar is.

Maar goed laten we het er maar op houden dat wij gewoon geweldige genen hebben!!! LOL

Where the #@#$$# stays time, before you know it, its 2 days ago I’ve blogged.
A personal note this time, At Sint Marie everything went well for Ame. For the next 6 months she doesn’t have to go to speech therapy. So it was worth while to go there.
It toke a lot of effort to get her in there, It’s paid for trough a national care system called AWBZ, so you have to fill in forms, a lot of forms, imagine a good book, that much, and you have to do that every 6 months, cause it’s expires after 6 months.
This kind of speechtherapie is a kind of back-up for the ‘normal’ speech therapist. If the speech therapist doesn’t know how to proceed, and the child isn’t improving, they can ask Sint Marie to take a look. At Sint Marie there working specialists like different kinds of linguists but also neuro-psycholigists. If the child is accepted and they know which department has to take a look, they’re going to test the child all the way, to find the cause or causes for the speech problems.
Stijn went also to Sint Marie but his acceptance went very quick, he was immediately placed on the second waiting list (first one is to look if you will be accepted and which department (2) has to take a look, second is the waiting list from the department) To give some figures, they get over 1200 requests and there can only be 72 children placed per department per year!!!!
Stijn end testing will take place in April, but he has a more complex profile, he is dyslectic (do you write it like that?) We went to the neurologist last Monday for test results, and he has a sleeping disorder called restless leg syndrome besides ADD
He’s getting some pills to sleep better, and we’ll hope it will have a good result also on his concentration.
At the moment Stijn is feeling great, at school he’s getting a minimum program, it means he’s getting all the normal stuff he has to learn but he doesn’t have to do the repeating exercises. Finally he isn’t every time the last one who finishes his work.
And the cutie as he is, he’s already asking for more work, when he’s finished his work

Kralen als sluitingen / Beads as closure

Alweer een paar drukke dagen gehad, en die zijn nog niet voorbij. Via het Etsy forum werd ik gewezen op net zo’n soort site alleen dan de Europese variant namelijk http://www.dawanda.com/ en natuurlijk heb ik daar ook maar een shop geopend…. Een mens moet toch wat te doen hebben, niet waar? Nou viel dat allemaal wel mee want ik heb al het werk voor Etsy natuurlijk al gedaan, met name teksten schrijven en foto’s bewerken kost veel tijd, maar dat was allemaal al gebeurd. DaWanda heeft een Engels, Duits en Frans gedeelte, maar je kunt de site zo instellen dat je alles ziet en niet alleen het Engelstalige. Misschien dat ik de teksten nog wel een keer naar het Frans vertaal maar Duits zie k niet zo zitten, daar ben ik echt heel slecht in, maar dat hoeft natuurlijk ook niet want de meeste Duitsers spreken Engels, Fransen daar en tegen….
Ik vind het een leuke site, maar hij is zo traag, en om eerlijk te zijn; het is geen Etsy

It has been a busy few days again, and it isn’t over yet. Through Etsy I came across another site like Etsy only it’s based in Europe it’s called www.DaWanda.com and I opened a shop there to...off course, It isn’t busy enough for me....But most off the work I did for Etsy I can use for DaWanda, so it was just a case of copy-paste. Writing the lines and Photoshop the pics takes a lot of time, but the work was already done. So what the heck (do you spell it like that? Please correct me if I’m wrong).
DaWanda has 3 different parts, one in English, one in German and One in French. But you can adjust your site settings so you can see all off the items in all languages. Maybe I will translate my stuff into French but never in German, I don’t speak it, besides most Germans speak English, But the French.... don’t get me wrong I love the French I love the country, if we have enough money we will live there someday, but the most Frenchmen speak crappy English let alone Dutch
I do like the site, a little bit slow but to be honest, it’s not Etsy

Vorige week ben ik bij Diana geweest, een vriendin die zich bezig houdt met kralen, hier is haar website http://www.dekralenhoeve.nl/
Ik had een paar scarflettes ontworpen en wilde graag een beetje een aparte sluiting, gewoon alleen een knoop heb je al zat, dus we hebben een hele avond geknutseld tot 0:30 maar het resultaat mag er zijn al zeg ik het zelf. Deze sluitingen geven echt iets extra’s aan de scarflettes. Maar oordeel zelf en laat het me weten!!

I designed a few scarflettes and I wanted a cool closure not just a button but something special. So we messed around till 0:30, but if I may say so, It looks cool. These closures add something special to my scarflettes.

tijd / time

Ik schaam mij diep het is al 11 dagen geleden dat ik geblogd heb..Niet dat ik er niet aangedacht heb maar tijd blijft een probleem. Wanneer krijgen we nou toch eens een paar extra uren in een dag. Ik heb het aantal dagen ieder keer aangepast, ik heb namelijk standaard een word doc openstaan om alles wat me te binnen schiet op te schrijven en die eerste zin begon op 6 dagen en inmiddels zijn het er al weer 11.
Ik heb echt een enorm te kort aan tijd, er zijn zoveel dingen die leuk zijn om te doen, en dan zijn er natuurlijk ook nog de dingen die gedaan moeten worden zoals een huishouden, dat is bij mij echt niet favoriet, dus als ik te weinig tijd heb schiet dat er altijd als eerst bij in. Gelukkig vinden de kinderen het geweldig om met een nat doekje rond te lopen of te dweilen, daar maken ze ruzie over!!!! Dat hebben ze niet van mij of van Alphons…
Verder heb je natuurlijk het op en neer rijden van kinderen naar judo, zwemles, logopedie en caesartherapie, dat is wekelijks daar komen de bezoekjes aan artsen e.d. nog bij, die zijn lastiger want omdat dat periodiek is moet je er veel meer voor regelen, wat je doet met de andere kinderen, kunnen ze mee? Of moet ik een oppas regelen, thuis of wegbrengen? Het enige leuke eraan aan is dat je tijdens het wachten iets kunt doen, ik heb dus altijd iets te breien of haken bij me, en op die manier heb ik al heel wat verkocht. Het eerste wat mensen vragen is wat ben je aan het maken? Ze zijn het hier echt niet gewend dat er iemand in het openbaar zit te haken en/of breien, en zo heb je al snel een leuk gesprek over breien. Het is eigenlijk de beste manier van reclame maken.

I’m ashamed; I haven’t blogged in 11 days. Not because I didn’t want to but I’m just out of time every day. When are we getting some extra hours in one day?
I adjusted the number of days a few times from the first line; I’m always having a text.doc. open on my laptop so I can write it down whatever I’m thinking of, and that first line started with 6 days!! I really have a time deficiency; there are so much fun things to do. So a lot of things I don’t like don’t happen, like cleaning my house. Luckily I have kids who like to clean; they are fighting who gets to mop the floor!!!
I don’t know from whom they have that, but it’s not from Alphons or me.
And of course you also have to bring the kids to judo lessons, swimming lessons, speechtherapie and kinesitherapy, these are weekly You also have some irregular things like doctor appointments and such Those are more difficult because you have to make arrangements for the other kids, where do they stay? Can they come also or do I have to bring them to the babysitter? The only good thing about waiting for your kids, you have a lot of time to knit or crochet. So I always have something with me to knit/crochet, I sold a lot of stuff just by knitting in a waiting room. People aren’t used to public knitting, but they do like it the first thing they always ask is what are you making, and before you know it you’re having a nice knitting conversation. It’s in my opinion the best way to advertise, it costs nothing and people do remember you

In deze 11 dagen heb ik natuurlijk niet stil gezeten degenen die via mijn blog al op Etsy hebben gekeken weten dat al, maar ik heb nog meer gemaakt wat er pas later op gezet gaat worden. Ik wilde uitproberen wat voor soort spul er goed bekeken wordt, voor het volgende winter seizoen, want ik zal ver vooruit moeten werken om er voor te zorgen dat ik elke dag iets nieuws erop kan zetten Wat behoorlijk goed bekeken werd is deze col ik heb ‘m charmant genoemd, voor het volgende winterseizoen komt ie terug in meer kleuren en in een glad multicolor garen.

The past 11 days I’ve made a lot, for those of you who are familiar with my shop on Etsy know it already, but I also made a lot of stuff that isn’t on etsy yet. First I wanted to test what kind of stuff is getting a lot of viewers for next winter season. My Charmant got a lot of views, so this model is returning in the next winter in more colors and in a different multicolor yarn

Deze losse col was mijn eerste poging tot breien met een rondbreinaald, niet slecht hè. Ik vond het een gedoe maar het viel me niet tegen, ik denk niet dat ik het erg veel ga doen, maar ik vond dat ik de techniek moet beheersen.

This turtleneck was my first attempted to knit with circular needles, it isn’t look so bad. I found it a bit troublesome, I don’t think I’m going to do it a lot, but I felt I had to know the technique

Verder heb ik hier het volledige patroon van geschreven, deze kabeltrui heb ik vorig jaar gemaakt voor Stijn (Ik zei al ik loop achter…ver achter met patroon schrijven)
Het patroon is in het Nederlands nu nog de vertaling naar het Engels, de maten gaan van 2 tot 12 jaar. Ik zit er aan te denken om een aparte pagina te maken met alleen de patronen, maar ik moet nog gaan verzinnen of ik het in mijn blog wil of op een van mijn sites of gewoon op etsy. Wat denken jullie? Voor de Engelstalige patronen wordt dadelijk mijn website (http://www.dutchknittingdesign.com/ ) aangepast zodat je straks rechtstreeks van de site een patroon kunt kopen en downloaden en ik ga kijken of ik dat ook kan doen voor de Nederlandstalige patronen al denk ik niet dat daar veel animo voor is. Nederlanders zijn niet gewend om voor een patroon te betalen

I also wrote the complete pattern for this cabled sweater, I made it for Stijn last year (I told you, I’m running behind on writing.....I wasn’t kidding) The pattern is written in Dutch so I have to translate it into English, the sizing is from 2 years till 12 years.
I’m still thinking of making a separate page for my patterns, But I have to make up my mind if I want it on my blog on one of my sites or just on etsy. What do you think? For my English patterns I’m going to adjust my website (www.DutchKnittingDesign.com ) so you can buy it online and download it right away. I’m going to try if it’s also possible for my Dutch patterns but I don’t think there’s a market for it. The Dutch aren’t used to pay for one pattern
